Presentation Summary – Get the Health Power (GHP)

The projectGet the Health Power(GHP) is a European initiative co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme under the Small-Scale Partnerships call. It focuses onpreventing doping in grassroots and youth sports, promotingmental coaching, and fosteringinclusion and healthy lifestylesamong young athletes, coaches, families and sports organizations.

The idea behind GHP comes from the growing concern about doping not only in elite sports, but also in amateur and youth categories, where athletes – often unaware of the consequences – may be exposed to risky behaviors. The project aims toraise awareness, train key stakeholders, andequip sports environments with toolsto support clean, ethical, and inclusive practices.

What is the project about?

GHP addresses several challenges: the lack of knowledge about doping risks, the increasing psychological pressure in competitive settings, the limited access to sport for people with fewer opportunities, and the lack of psychological support structures around young athletes. It aims toprovide coaches with the tools to support athletes not only physically, but also mentally, helping them manage stress, expectations, and the temptation of shortcuts like doping.

The project will also focus onhealthy nutrition, body image awareness, andpsychological skills training, combining physical education with emotional intelligence and mental resilience.

What are the goals?

The main objectives are:

  • Toprevent dopingthrough education, training, and early intervention.
  • Topromote mental coaching techniquesto support athlete well-being and performance.
  • Toencourage healthy habits, including nutrition and physical activity.
  • Toinclude people with fewer opportunities, including those with disabilities, in sport and training.
  • Tostrengthen the cooperationbetween European sports organizations and build a community of anti-doping ambassadors.

What will we do?

GHP will implement a series of coordinated actions across the participating countries (Italy, Croatia, and Turkey), including:

  • Training coursesfor coaches on anti-doping strategies and psychological support.
  • Workshops and webinarsfor young athletes and their families.
  • Local awareness campaignsin schools and sports clubs.
  • Mentoring programsand events promoting clean sport values.
  • The creation of a digital toolkitfor coaches and organizations.
  • Monitoring and evaluationto assess results and share best practices.

Activities will be supported by both local and transnational meetings, with the involvement of expert trainers, mental coaches, and psychologists.

Who are the partners?

The partnership includes:

  • ASD Dojo Karate Pyros (Italy)– the coordinator, with experience in Erasmus+ projects.
  • FISR – Italian Roller Sports Federation, providing technical expertise and educational support.
  • EGSK (Turkey)– a grassroots sport club working on inclusion and youth engagement.
  • GK Zagreb (Croatia)– a new participant in Erasmus+ aiming to develop its international capacity.

Each partner brings different strengths and will be responsible for local implementation, training, event organization, and active contribution to the common goals.

What is expected from the partners?

All partners are expected to:

  • Activelyorganize and host local activities(training sessions, workshops, open events).
  • Engage athletes, families, coaches, and schoolsin their regions.
  • Participate intransnational meetingsand exchange knowledge.
  • Support thedevelopment and testingof training materials and the toolkit.
  • Monitor and reporton the progress and outcomes of their local work.

What are the expected results?

By the end of the project, we expect:

  • Over100 coaches trainedin mental coaching and anti-doping prevention.
  • At least300 young athletes involvedin training and local activities.
  • Atransferable toolkitfor use across Europe.
  • A stronger network of committed sports actors working for a clean, inclusive, and ethical sport culture

Educational Cartoons and Comics

The project also developed educational comics and visual materials designed to engage children and young people in a simple and accessible way.

Through storytelling and visual language, these materials promote clean sport values, fair play and healthy choices, supporting anti-doping education from an early age.

Project Activities

During the implementation ofGet the Health Power, several activities have been carried out at local, national and international level, including training events, school activities, seminars and awareness-raising initiatives.

Updates and documentation of the activities are shared through the project website and social media channels.
